Bespoke Projects – Imperial Court, Kensington

Interior Door Systems have recently delivered a fantastic new project in partnership with The Furniture Union for their client, who is living in a traditional apartment in West London.

The Furniture Union’s furniture designer, Jaspreet Mudhar, requested a free standing sliding door system that could fit accurately into a tight alcove space, whilst fitting into her clients existing colour scheme.

IDS began working on a design to match the client’s needs, they first identified that the standard wardrobe blue print could not be used due to modular sizes, and a custom built unit would be needed for the space. IDS supplied the sliding wardrobe in Egger Dark Cordoba Olive, complete with Gemini Black Frames and co-orinating solid panels on the wardrobe’s exterior with a size of size 1400mm wide x 2250mm High x 610mm Deep, the interior featured a shelf and hanging rail.

The sliding system was shipped flat pack for ease of transport and for accessibility to the apartment complex as ready built furniture is often a problem for clients living in apartments due to the logistics. The full system was then built up into the finished made to measure product, to suit a freestanding application, on site.

The project was a complete success and took just 2 weeks from concept to completion. The Furniture Union, loved the unique concept and quality of design and service so much that they have gone onto partnering with Interior Door Systems on lots of other exciting projects across the UK.

The apartment owner commented on the furniture piece, “The sliding door system has transformed my bedroom into an organised haven, whilst providing continuity in design throughout the room.”
