When IDS began working with an interior designer on a study for their New Build property, based in Cheshire. A simple brief was given, the study needed to have two key features;

  • Storage for both personal and business documentation, organised and placed in a logical fashion around the room.

  • Lighting and furniture finishes designed to work at any time of day or night without causing glare or dullness.

The IDS design team got straight to work on providing a luxurious yet practical solution, our client desperately desired in their home. Initially all electronics were changed to wireless devices which meant IDS could instantly streamline the design of the room into a seamless, clutter-free working environment.

We worked in partnership with Sensio ® on the office lighting, to give the client the optimal room lighting level in both the day and night. Gloss levels on the door panelling was toned down to allow the doors to work in both at night, by giving minimal glare from artificial lighting, and in the daylight due to the reflective door panels, which in turn gives the room a much larger feel.

The desk space has been designed to emphasise the square shape of the room and give the user maximum space to move around, whilst still being within reach of all essential draws and cabinets. A contemporary splash of orange was chosen to accompany the comforting dark wood grains and muted tones.

The end result is fabulous in every aspect and the client has plenty of prospective space for the coming years.

The client, of whom is an interior designer, quoted “I have an Uber Study, which is now becoming one of the most used rooms in the home.”
